CBR10Bingo: Not in My Wheelhouse It wasn’t always like this. In junior high I discovered Stephen King’s short stories before any of his novels. These were my road trip and summer vacation books. I loved that I could read a story or two, put the book away and do something else, and then pick it up later and start fresh with something new. Night Shift and Skeleton Crew and Different Seasons were my gateway drugs to Cujo and The Shining and Misery. I don’t know […]
Do not shame me for knowledge that has been denied me.
This was a hard book to finish, and I’m not sure why I insisted on completing it as I really have no problem abandoning books halfway through. I did persevere though, and I think I’m glad I did? I’ve found quite few books I’ve enjoyed through her […]

This one took me a little […]

In an attempt to stave off the degradation memory has on my ability to write these reviews, I’m going to try doing a better job at making notes for myself while I read them. I haven’t been doing a very good job of that lately. Last year, I discovered the novels of Brent Weeks. Soon thereafter, I abandoned what I had thought was going to be an interesting series because I couldn’t stomach the depiction of the women in the books. They were all beautiful […]
