Well, it’s going to be a great play!

October 7, 2016 by genericwhitegirl 1 Comment

This is a tough one…I loved the Harry Potter books but this isn’t technically an 8th book, because we all know Rowling said she was done with the books. So she came up with a new story for a theater production and the screenplay was printed in book format. So first, let’s sort out who actually wrote what. Which is to say that while it’s an extremely believable look into the brain of a British teenager I’m not really sure that I enjoyed that look. Georgia Nicolson starts the book at the end of her summer holidays. She’s a fairly typical teenager and has the typical teenager problems. She […]

Holding out for a hero…

November 4, 2015 by PattyKates 8 Comments

Katie: Y’all, I want to give a shout out today to Patty for raising her Girl right. Being the great parent she is, Patty has gotten Girl started down the Judy Blume path. Being the great kid she is, Girl has some thoughts and feelings she’d like to share. Patty: Because PattyKates wasn’t enough of a departure, we’ve decided to do a review à trois with my daughter – who henceforth shall be referred to as Girl – being very careful to maintain a level […]
