So I was inspired by my lovely book exchange gifts to attempt to read through all of the Pride and Prejudice variations I currently own. I say “attempt” because it’s a lot. I started off with A Very Austen Christmas, an anthology of Christmas stories, because it’s seasonal I guess. And the wifi is broken at my house, so that means more reading at home instead of noodling around on the internet! “Her Christmas Gift” by Robin Helm This is a Pride and Prejudice story, […]
Fun but ultimately unfulfilling
As a huge Harry Potter fan, there was no way I was skipping this book, which is essentially a collection of information from Pottermore, the official website dedicated to all things Harry Potter. I’ve read other supplemental texts affiliated with the series, but this feels like the least substantial of them all. The story is a small guide to Hogwarts – how to get there, fun facts about the school and its inhabitants – presented both as general information, and then commented on by Rowling […]

Libby Strout is excited and dreading her first day of school since […]
See the light and check out this book

It is only at the end that Claudia learns that the moth has its own beauty that she decides to paint the month in a special way. I would have written a different ending, but this is Jennifer Hansen Rolli’s choice. However, their illustrations are quite lovely. […]
