I was looking for a little pop culture distraction today. Something easy. Not too long. Something I could immerse myself in for a little while and ignore everything else, and then I remembered that I picked Paper Girls Vol. 1 up at the library the other day and said, YES. THIS. And I’m glad I did. I’m not sure I have a clue what’s going on here. But it definitely distracted me for a little while (in a good way. I think). Paper Girls is […]
Paper Girls, Vol. 2
Where on earth does Brian K Vaughan get his ideas? He’s so inventive, creating fascinating worlds with tonnes of lore just lurking beneath the surface. Everything I’ve read of his provokes far more questions than it answers, and I love it. But can I just say, that THIS is my personal […]
Not what I was expecting.
Okay, help, you guys. This hasn’t been reviewed for CBR yet, and I need someone to explain it to me. I literally do not understand what is happening with this comic. I WANT to like it, and parts of it are downright amazing (the art, in particular, has this great retro 80s vibe, and the characters are typical BKV amazingness) but THE PLOT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. People were losing their minds over this, so I couldn’t believe when it I closed the first […]
