I am an unabashed Brian K. Vaughan fan – Y the Last Man, Runaways, and Saga are all inspired series’ and I was excited for this one, boasting a rad group of female protagonists. As the story begins, we meet the “paper girls” who are newspaper delivery girls in the suburbs in the late 80s. I was looking for something different to read today, and this girl-power-filled graphic novel fit the bill. Maybe.
I was looking for a little pop culture distraction today. Something easy. Not too long. Okay, help, you guys. This hasn’t been reviewed for CBR yet, and I need someone to explain it to me. I literally do not understand what is happening with this comic. I WANT to like it, and parts of it are downright amazing (the art, in particular, has this great retro 80s vibe, and the characters are typical BKV amazingness) but THE PLOT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. People were losing their minds over this, so I couldn’t believe when it I closed the first […]
