Where No Star Trek Fan May Have Gone Before …

April 11, 2017 by xoxoxoe Leave a Comment

There are so many branches to the Star Trek universe: novelizations, movies, re-boot film series, animated series, magazines, television series, toys, games, etc. that even the most dedicated fan, Trekkie or Trekker might have trouble keeping up. … Star Trek’s popularity and influence was not limited to the United States. The show may have been cancelled in 1969, but the next year in England, before the series had even premiered on British television, a series of comic strips appeared in weekly television magazines. Star Trek: The Classic UK Comics, […]

I will admit I was prepared to dislike this. I read a couple of reviews that gave the plot away, and it made me angry and nervous (more on this below). I shouldn’t have *really* worried. As she did with that whole Secret Wars mess, G. Willow Wilson manages to write an event tie-in story (in this case, Civil War II) but still keep it readable for people like myself who aren’t planning on reading the rest of it, and to simultaneously keep the story […]

Everything I’ve read of his provokes far more questions than it answers, and I love it. Paper Girls weaves a thrilling mystery, and I’m glad I waited for the volume instead of picking it up issue by issue, but I’m still anxious to read more! I can’t get into the details of Volume Two without spoiling part of Volume One, […]

1940s Hollywood Noir for $6

November 8, 2016 by Halbs 4 Comments

That night began just like every other night. I sat in my car. My car sat in an empty parking lot. The black grit some barista had the nerve to call coffee kept me warm enough. Headlights flashed through my passenger-side windows. I perked up and turned down the radio as a Jeep pulled into the parking lot and cruised over in my general direction. He was late, as usual. If he’s always late, and I show up early, am I the one with the problem? […]
