March 6, 2017 by Classic Leave a Comment

If you haven’t watched the movie Logan yet, look away! The character we follow in this All New Wolverine issue is Laura. We get to see her as she steps up to be the new Wolverine, while still being mentored by our Logan (who is now gone). Carol Danvers, who is apparently a hot-shot pilot and one of the Avengers, lives in the crown of the Statue of Liberty (you can do that?) with her sister and niece. If so, did you understand all of it? Because that page makes it sound terrible. As for the comic itself, once I got the gist of the background, it was actually pretty great! Basically […]

In case you’re curious, and too lazy to Google it, “Alis Volat Propriis” is Latin for “she flies with her own wings.” I think that’s lovely. It’s a lovely phrase, and it’s a lovely sentiment to end Kelly Sue DeConnick’s run on Captain Marvel. That said, man, I’m just not thrilled with the way this whole thing has turned out. I read Higher, Further, Faster, More earlier this year, and absolutely fell in love with it, and with Carol Danvers. Everything that has come after […]
