Yer Getting 75% More Plot in the Book than the Movie

March 19, 2017 by Caitlin_D 6 Comments

This is the first Harry Potter book that is a new read for me, although I’ve seen the movie a dozen time, and it’s a much better story. I’m actually retroactively very angry about the movie adaptation! Luckily, there are now several other people embarking on the Harry Potter journey with me so I can, hopefully, commiserate with them since I’m twelve years late to the party. It is going to be very difficult for me to separate the book from the movie so I apologize in advance if you’re not […]

The Cuckoo’s Not a Bird in This One

March 16, 2017 by Beth Ellen 7 Comments

So I’ve been trying to set loose reading goals every year for specific genres in order to attempt to widen my reading habits. The first time it was romance, and I was wildly successful in reading tons of new authors. Last year I meant it to be fantasy, but that’s spilling over into this year as well. Oops. But this year is mystery. And I’ve started off with a bang! The Cuckoo’s Calling is the first in the Cormoran Strike series. Cormoran Strike is a […]

Hey Cannonballers, I’m sure the thing you were thinking you needed most in the world right now was a third cannonballer embarking upon a Harry Potter reread for CBR9. Your wishes have been granted, because here I am joining in on the good idea train. I have been thinking about rereading these books for several years. I have comments on Halbs and ingres77’s reviews to back it up. But the desire to do so started before 2015… I’m pretty sure it’s one of the many […]

Rereading and Co-Writing with Angry Dimples – Harry Potter for Sanity and Resistance, Book 3

March 10, 2017 by emmalita 12 Comments

This is the last of the Harry Potter books that I consider to be within the Children’s genre. After this, I will label them as YA. Joining me in this review is Angry Dimples, a Pajiban and new Cannonballer. We have no respect for new readers. If you don’t know the whole series, stop reading now. There will be no spoiler coddling! My main prompt for starting The Great 2017 Harry Potter Reread was Angry Dimples. She started her own reread and wanted to talk […]
