Miss Poppy Bridgerton is visiting a cousin at the coast when she stumbles upon a strange cave, which happens to be full of smugglers’ goods. When she’s shortly after discovered by two of the smugglers, she finds herself drugged and abducted onto a ship, where the very handsome captain tells her that she can’t be released until after the ship has been to Portugal and back. Poppy is none too happy about this, obviously, but doesn’t really have a choice. She just has to hope […]
A kidnapping and family drama
TITLES ARE HARD TO THINK OF! This is book three in a trilogy about Detective Jennifer Knight. She’s a detective for Operation Moonlight, and they investigate any crime that might have a supernatural element. I like the characters in the trilogy, but we don’t see as much of them in this book as in the earlier ones. This story is all about the family involved in the crime Jennifer is investigating. A little nine year old twin girl goes missing and is presumed kidnapped off […]
Gideon and Sirius find a lost dog… but is the human lost too?
This is the final book in the Gideon and Sirius series. As I noted in my earlier G&S reviews, I love Sirius. Obviously he’s my favorite character. Gideon is OK, especially because of the way he treats all dogs. I don’t remember how this book actually started, but the action really began one night when Sirius heard a dog outside in trouble. Sirius woke up Gideon and basically dragged him outside to see what was wrong with the dog. She had been attacked by a […]
A little girl gets kidnapped, but Joe’s on the case…

Nearly immediately, we’re thrown into the story of a little girl (I think she’s 5 or 6) being kidnapped from her bed. Joe’s wife Caroline taught the little girl in dance class for years, so she’s nearly part of the family. As soon as they hear about the kidnapping, Caroline makes them go over to the couple’s neighborhood and look […]
