I should have seen it coming. The first of this series was a best-seller, and I didn’t think it was that great. The second installment was also a NYT best-seller, and I figured maybe this one will be better. I was wrong. It was not better; if anything, Moriarty was worse than The House of Silk. I can at least understand why people were interested in the book. They premise involves what happens immediately after Reichenbach Falls to both Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty, a time-frame […]
All in the golden afternoon….wait…this ALSO seems familiar!
Vacation read #2, and the one I was most looking forward to. Liane Moriarty never disappoints. She creates such relatable, flawed, and lovely characters. Breezy young parents Sam and Clementine and their Type A friends Erika and Oliver are invited to a barbeque at the home of May/December couple Tiffany and Vid. For some reason this barbeque has gone horribly wrong, and we spend the book sussing out the details of the incident. In finding out why the incident has been so destructive to these families, […]

Taking place shortly after Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty’s “deaths” at Reichenbach Falls, private detective Agent Frederick Chase arrives from New York and soon meets up with Scotland […]

It was yet another interesting and different story, though I didn’t love it as much as theHypnotist’s Love Story.* The story focuses on Sophie Honeywell, a single woman in her late thirties feeling the full weight of her biological clock. Sophie is known for being a great friend, always willing to entertain her couple friends with her single girl exploits, and up for whatever romantic adventure she encounters. Still, despite her rich social life, Sophie […]
