“He had been pretending, then, to look into his past, when really he was looking into some alternate reality, some different version of his own history, some unseen world.”

This was an outstanding book and I don’t want to give too much away so I apologize for the brevity of my review. Just know that I emphatically recommend Liz Moore’s The Unseen World! Ada Sibelius is being raised by her single father, David, in late 1970s Boston. Like her father Ada is very intelligent, prodigal even. 4.5 stars. This book was reviewed by both narfna and Fiat.Luxury who both raved about it. I can see why after reading it! It will absolutely be going on my list of Swiss Army recommendations list. I think most readers would like it, if not love it. Genre: Family drama with a little science fiction and mystery thrown in Read this if you loved: Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng or All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders In a […]

I love when a book I knew nothing about, had never seen or heard about, suddenly jumps onto my radar when someone whose book opinions I trust talks about it. The Unseen World has a […]

This book is now at the top of my “books to give to friends” list

Narfna told me to read this, so I did, and you should too.  I blame the toddler for the fact that it took me three days to finish, because what I wanted to do was sit down and read straight through. I hesitate to give away too much of the plot because it was a joy to go in knowing nothing.  So how about just a tiny summary?  Ada adores her father David, a single father who directs a computer science lab in 1980s-era Boston.  […]
