Reading a book by George Carlin is basically just like watching him perform live. Actually, it’s also really similar to having a conversation with my Uncle Jeff, but most of y’all don’t know him so we’ll go with the first comparison. It’s rapid-fire jokes, littered with swear words and politically incorrect observations. Some of the jokes will make you snort, some will make you roll your eyes, but by the end…you’ve had a good time.
Napalm & Silly Putty includes such observations as…
“Did you ever eat a whole box of cookies right in a row? Did you ever do that? I don’t mean take them into your bedroom or something. I mean open them right up in the kitchen as soon as you get home from the store and eat ’em while you’re standing there? Just stare at the toaster while you’re eatin’ a whole goddamn box of cookies?”
and
“A cat will blink when struck with a hammer.”
It’s funny, irreverent and completely inappropriate. Not a bad way to spend a few hours.
Happy quadruple cannonball!!
Thank you!
CONGRATULATIONS, CONGRATULATIONS, CONGRATULATIONS, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Thank you!
Happy quadruple Cannonball! Are you sure you don’t have a time-turner?
No, but if I did, I would definitely use it to read more =)
Happy quadruple Cannonball!
As a mortal, I had trouble thing that sentence.
We are all but shadows basking in the radiance of your reviewing excellence.
Haha thank you =)
Woooo! Happy quadruple Cannonball!
I love George Carlin. I can listen to anything while I’m working out (I cannot workout without podcasts or an audiobook), but not George Carlin. I laugh too hard and too unexpectedly.
I definitely had the same issue reading this!
Yay for reading all of the books!
Thank you!
Happy quadruple cannonball!
I remember my sister going through a phase where she read all the Carlin in high school, I don’t think I’ve read any though. I might have to change that.
This was my first one, but I’ll be hunting down more!
