All about Bunny Ears

This is book eight in the Alice in Deadland series.  It’s all about everyone’s favorite (including mine) character, Bunny Ears.  He remembered his name (Neil) at the end of the Crocodile book, and now he wants to figure out more about himself.

This book is a little different than the rest, because Alice isn’t the main character.  Almost all of the previous books (except the one with the four short backstories – book two or three, I can’t remember) are told from Alice’s point of view.  This book is told entirely from Neil’s perspective.  Also, this book is different in that Neil can talk.  He’s been able to say “Alisssss” before, but it was more of a scary hiss than an actual word.  Bunny Ears is thinking of himself as Neil now.  Or, more accurately, Neil is converting Bunny Ears from the inside out.

The new president – who we think killed the old president in a coup – wants to use Neil / Bunny Ears to show the world that he’s super cool and in control and that all their dead family members can come back to life instead of being undead!  There are literally zero flaws in that plan.  It goes just about as well as you think it would.

Anyway, Bunny Ears basically wants people to call him Neil now.  He’s kind of starting a Biter revolution, and setting them free.  They head towards Las Vegas at the end, and are planning on staying there and making it a Biter safety zone.  He still talks to Wonderland with his tablet though!
