According to official listings, The Furthest Station is Peter Grant #5.7, which if you ask me is an infuriating state of affairs. I love this series so much, mostly because of the people, places, and things in them. And it’s starting to feel like Aaronovitch is only writing tangents these days.

There are the graphic novels plus this novella, but I really mostly want to know is WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH LESLEY MAY.

I swear to you, every time I go to Wikipedia to see if I’ve got it all straight, there’s another side-bar Peter Grant story to read. I just popped over there just now this minute and discovered there’s an audible book that I wasn’t aware of. You know? It’s Peter Grant #5.6, of course! Of course, I wouldn’t be so furious if I didn’t love this series so much. And The Furthest Station absolutely does deliver the goods. Peter Grant is growing ever more mature as an investigator and as a magician. Nightingale’s trust in him and in his ability to mentor young Abigail is lovely. And Abigail is growing up delightfully and precociously, in every way I would hope she would grow up.

Peter Grant is a real fictional treat of a character, and I really do adore this world. It does all fit together nicely, I just really wish we could have more of the MAIN PLOT, please. Thank you. Please? Did you hear me say please?
