Oh this book was good but I listened to the audio version and totally had a couple of teary moments while running. It’s not the kind of book you want to know too much about before you go in, so be warned. But basically, it’s about a man named Ted Flask, who’s been having a lot of trouble lately. His therapist doesn’t understand him. He and his boyfriend broke up. But he has a shining light in his life — a dachshund named Lily.
Unfortunately, one day Lily wakes up with an octopus on her head. Obviously, it’s not an octopus. But Ted refuses to consider Lily could have something worse, so we’re calling it an octopus. It’s a story about how much a person can need and love a pet, and if you are one of those people, it will break your heart. But you should also totally read it.
