We are one week into Cannonball Read 10 Bingo! As of publication, we have 23 participants and 68 reviews. You people are exceeding expectations!

We are going to have a Check In post every month. This post is a place for you to ask questions, ask for recommendations for categories, and find a review buddy if you need one. You can always post your questions in our Facebook group, Cannonball Read Book Chat, or on Twitter @cannonballread. We will also post the prizes we have so far. Finally, we can post administrative notes and reminders.
Administrative Note – please remember to put the bingo category at the beginning or end of your review, even if you add the category in the tags.
Administrative Note – If you cannot find the bingo card and category descriptions, there is a link on the sidebar.

And there are even MORE PRIZES on their way!
Lucy Parker?!!! Oh my god!!!
Also, I want to see everyone’s boards! Is there a way to add images to comments?
I don’t think we can add images to the comments.
These prizes are awesome.
These are some seriously awesome prizes. I’m still trying to process the fact that Lucy Parker reads the blog.
I wasn’t going to participate as I felt a bit overwhelmed picking books, but now I am super in (first review posted!) and I want to say thank you for organising this. Great fun.
I was thinking I might collaborate on a review with the kids – that might be fun.
That would be fantastic.
Go for it – some of my favorite posts on Pajiba are Dustin and TK’s reviews with their kids. And considering how kindly Cannonballers treat our first-time reviewers, I bet your kids would love the experience. Maybe they’ll sign up as Junior Cannonballers next year!
Oh. My. Godtopus.
I’ll admit that I was doing bingo for a kickstart/completion of challenge goal as opposed to prizes (even though I had an inkling of what they were going to be) but I am exceedingly interested in some of these.
You got me. I’ve been sucked into the competitiveness even further.
I also apologize in advance to the lovely emmalita who is tracking our bingos… my board is going to be all over the place for awhile as I fit the books already in my queue into their respective squares. There will be no rhyme or reason to how I’m attacking the board.
Don’t worry about that!
That’s exactly how I’m doing it faintingviolet! I’m just jamming books I own / borrowed / whatever into a slot on the bingo board :)
Oh absolutely, I have just been trying to fit books from my backlog into suitable bingo card categories, and then I’ve gone through my TBR list and my list of books coming out in the next few months and tried to “assign” squares. The only three categories I haven’t assigned a book to yet are “Award Winning”, “Snubbed” and “Dream Vacation”.
Does it have to be a place I ACTUALLY want to go, or can I pretend in order to fit a book into said category?
Kate Daniels is in Atlanta, Atlanta is a fun city. Boom, dream vacation. Plus we could meet up ?
Ha! Magic Triumphs is going to be my “This is the End” square and I’m going to do a mass review of my reread of the entire series so far for “Throwback Thursday”. I’m not worried, I’m sure I’ll find something in my 1000 book+ TBR list to fit those three categories. :D
I also haven’t picked “Dream Vacation” and I have “Snubbed” and “Home Sweet Home” shortlisted. I haven’t decided which home state I’m reading for.
This is amazing! Adding a second challenge to reading and everyone is ready to oblige. :)
So excited! These are great prizes – thanks so much for organizing this (and giving me the kick in the rear I needed to start posting again). I’m going to work with a nibling for the team review, get her summer reading out of the way and start a conversation at the same time, so thanks for that idea!
Thanks! That makes me so happy.
Question – for Snubbed does it have to have never won an award, or just not won one of the few it was nominated for? For example… Muderbot was Finalist 2017 Hugo Award for Best Novella, but Winner 2017 Nebula Award for Best Novella, 2018 Alex Award
We don’t say “never won any prize,” so a book that was nominated for several prizes but didn’t win them all will work. We are learning so much about how specific we need to be with language.
I just don’t want to feel like I’m cheating, which is I’m sure why so many of us are asking questions now. I never would have thought to ask until I looked up Murderbot’s stats.
I just reserved a book at the library that doesn’t really fit into any of the categories, and I feel so conflicted!
It’s ok! Not every review has to be a bingo review.
You’re right, you’re right, I know you are right.
I see you with your Carrie Fisher reference.
If you’re co-reviewing with a fellow Cannonballer, how do you both get credit for the review – for bingo and for year totals? Should you both post it?
That’s a great question! You can message either me or Mswas and let us know who’s review count needs to be adjusted. One of us will take care of it.
Solid, thanks!
I love how careful everyone is being with the bingo rules! Emmalita’s right, just one post, and we’ll adjust totals on the back end. Can’t wait to read it!
I feel like “You people are exceeding expectations!” could be the tagline for the whole CBR undertaking.
This is entirely accurate.
