Our favorite little ballerina, sleepover-having, beach going vampire, Vampirina, is back with her family and they are having a grand adventure in the snow! Conveniently this book just happens to be named, (Imagine that!)
Contessa Anne Marie Pace has brought to life our little vampire friend with a very special snow day. Her family and friends (even a reluctant big sister) go out to sled, toss snowballs, ice skate and even, possibly make a new friend!
And perhaps the best part to this quirky story is what happens in the illustrations. To say that the illustrations are perhaps the best part is saying a lot! These sweet, silly and just delightfully charming additions of Mistress of the Night LeUyen Pham are the perfect addition to the text. Not everything is being told via the actual story. You need to pay attention to notice how Vampirina gets her sister up, the facial expressions of the parents (especially the father) when that aforementioned friend shows up and even how the siblings help each other out when one of them needs a wing!
The story is just fun and silly and perfect for the young crowd. Snow might not be as universally known as say the beach or being a ballerina is, but if you like snow and snow related activities, you will love this. And if your child (or you) are a fan of the Disney Junior Vampirina television series you can enjoy finding out how it all started long ago with the gem Vampirina Ballerina.
