Last year got a little hairy when I had to write almost all my reviews for the year in the last three weeks of December. It wasn’t much fun, so I promised myself that this year I would get back on track. Unless I’m traveling, I will not finish my next book until I’ve reviewed the previous one. That way, I should only ever have one review to catch up on. I hope. I’m starting this year off with Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines (2011). It’s the first book […]
We’re done here
I’ve finally finished the six-book Vampire Academy series with Last Sacrifice (2010) by Richelle Mead! And with the conclusion, I’ve found a little closure, some satisfaction, and some annoyance. These books are sometimes fun, sometimes exciting, and sometimes a little irritating, but I obviously like them enough to push through the series. Spirit Bound was no different, but I would advise starting at the beginning if you have any interest. It wouldn’t make any sense to […]
Good vampires, bad vampires, and half vampires
I’ve been steadily working my way through the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead ever since I got sucked into the first one. Hmmm…let me clarify, the books are fun and quick reads. The part of this process that is slow is getting the books from the library. There’s not a huge waitlist, but there also aren’t too many copies. Blood Promise (2009) is the fourth out of six novels about Rose Hathaway, a dhampir (half-human and half-vampire), her best friend Lissa (a nice vampire with […]
