You deserved a Wakanda that cherished you.

Wakanda is in disarray. Someone is inciting Wakandans into violence against their king. Their queen, T’challa’s sister, is in a state between living and dead. Justice results in injustice and strong men and bandits are free to abuse women. Wakanda has lost its connection to it’s heritage. Death by Eyeball

Original Sin was a Marvel Comics miniseries. I read the collected 8 issues of the main story. There were also tie in issues, which I did not read. Original Sin hits a weak spot in my recent comic book hobby. I started reading comic books two years ago, mostly because of the MCU movies. Despite that, I’ve mostly stuck to single character series like Ms. Marvel or Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye run. Marvel characters have a long and complicated history that I barely understand. I might […]

My friend Alison loves comics so whenever she comes across something she thinks might do the trick for me, she makes sure to get it into my hands. I sometimes decline her suggestions due to time limitations, but I always try to see what she’s offering. A couple weeks ago she handed me Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey in comic form, and there was no way I wasn’t going […]

Kamala survived Secret Wars and is now just as awesome as before.

How does this series continue to be SO GOOD. It is the only superhero comic I read that doesn’t allow the larger events of the Marvel (or whatever other comics) universe to completely mess with the narrative it’s trying to tell. Kamala is always Kamala. I never feel discombobulated when I’m reading about her, even if I’ve missed issues where she’s popped in to other superheroes stories, or there’s been some sort of crossover event, like Secret Wars/Battleworld. No idea how that mess all got […]
