If you’re ever having a bad day, you could do worse than self-medicating with maybe a hot bath or some hot cocoa or ice cream or soft pajamas or episodes of Gilmore Girls, but maybe also think about adding Texts From Jane Eyre in there as well. There were parts of this book that made me laugh until tears squeezed out of my eyeholes. There were also other parts, mostly to do with classics and mythology, that made me glad I have my friendly Google […]
“Everywhere’s been where it is ever since it was first put there. It’s called geography.”
I’ve made my first foray into Discworld. There was an article on io9 that described the best way to turn your friend into a fan of your particular fandom. I spent much of my life not reading Fantasy. I don’t know why exactly, but I feel it has something to do with having a tough […]
So endeth these Star Wars.
I apologize in advance for this review. Not only did I forget that I read this, and hence forget to rate it on Goodreads for almost two months, I read it so long ago I barely remember anything I wanted to say about it AND ALSO I didn’t take any notes. (Please refer to my reviews of the first and second books in the series for actual quality review material.) Here’s what I remember: This was my least favorite of the three adaptations. Of course, […]
“O help / Me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, / Thou art / Mine only hope.”
Holy shit. This is one of the nerdiest books I’ve ever read. It is glorious. I was initially wary of yet another book that seemingly capitalized on mish-mashing two beloved cultural entities together (see: the shitstorm surrounding the release of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies), but a good review by someone I trust convinced me to give this a shot. So glad I did. Shakespeare and Star Wars, it turns out, go absurdly well together. Like cheese and crackers, cookies and milk, pizza and beer […]
