I had to stop reading this at night

July 27, 2018 by kfishgirl Leave a Comment

This is a very short story, and it almost feels like a cheat to have it as one of my CBR books for the year, but here we are.  After reading Obscura (which was one of my recent reviews), I wanted more Joe Hart.  So I downloaded a few short stories that were available on Kindle Unlimited.  I started to read this story the other night laying in my bed, and I actually had to stop and read it during the day. It’s at its […]

Nikki Grimes is a great prose-poet for young adults. How flattering, I said, meaning the opposite

December 7, 2017 by borisanne 3 Comments

Hey you. You. I’m talking to you. A human living in the world in 2017 who takes things like The Handmaid’s Tale incredibly personally. A human living in the world in 2017 who is horrified by what has been happening for centuries in a very real, cold-blooded, and methodical way to the Native American community. A human living in the world in 2017 who cannot believe that people don’t believe in science and climate change. A human living in the world in 2017 who still finds […]

Lots of useful advice when gestating a tiny human

December 1, 2017 by Malin 10 Comments

Since not all the readers of my blog are necessarily also readers here on the group blog or my friends on Facebook, you may not know that I am currently in the process of growing a tiny human inside me. This comes after more than seven years of trying to get pregnant and nearly two emotionally taxing and occasionally very depressing years where every few months I went through time consuming, expensive and at times really rather painful IVF treatments. So I worked HARD for […]
