So often with Moyes’s books that follow two timelines (or any author’s, really), I find myself really enjoying one timeline, and resenting the other for getting in the way. So I give the Bohemians 4 stars, and soppy Daisy 2 stars, to average out to a solid 3 star book. “I simply believe that sometimes the fates have a future for us that we cannot imagine. And to enable them we just have to keep believing that good things will happen.” In the 1950s, a […]
Thank you, Narfna!
Thank you for the books, Narfna! I’ve had A Clockwork Orange on my TBR list forever but have never gotten around to reading it. And while I’ve never heard of Golden Boy, it sounds exactly like the kind of thing that I’d like. Can’t wait to try these both out!

Cop Town was similarly shocking, only it was the racism, sexism and homophobia that made me uncomfortable here. However, it was absolutely worth the read. “This women’s lib stuff works for rich girls, but all you’ve got going for you is your face and your figure. You need to take advantage of both before you lose them.” Set in the 1970s in Atlanta, Cop Town covers the first week on […]
